Are you an ingredient watcher? As well-informed as anyone can be, it sure can get confusing. Between abbreviations, confusing scientific names, numbers, codes and unpronounceable words, how are we to remember what is good or bad for us?
To help guide you into making better choices, as well as understand, the reasons WHY we have chosen the better alternatives over many of the common ingredients in regular baby products, we will regularly post articles and information on these “Ingredients we choose to AVOID”. Follow the series and you will be sure to be an ingredient guru at the end and know exactly what nasties to keep clear of.
We believe in keeping your skin pure – as pure as the day you were born. And we can! For too long the (synthetic) wool has been pulled over our eyes, but through research, and with passion and dedication, we have new and honest insight into what is good for us and what we need to remove from our households (and scribble off our shopping lists).
We’ll be providing valuable research on what to avoid and why, but in the meantime here is a quick guide as to what to look out for – and do our very best to AVOID:
- Parabens (Methyl, Propyl/Ethyl/Butyl)
- Petrochemicals/mineral oil/propylene glycol/PPG/PEG
- Sulphated Surfactants (SLS/SLES)
- DEA (diethanolamine)/TEA (trethanolamine)
- Phalates (hidden under ‘parfum’ or ‘fragrance’)
- Aluminium
- Flouride
- Synthetic colourants & fragrances (often listed in number and letter formats).
We tend to be so concerned about preventing our kids from getting dirty or muddy, which is actually good for them and exposes them to a diverse microbial environment, yet often we neglect to inspect the harmful ingredients found in their skincare products?
Somehow we’ve become accustomed to look past these kinds of health hazards, and all the while there are much better, safer and more wholesome products available for us to use. Pure Beginnings is passionate about healthy, safe and nutrient-rich ingredients – bringing you what’s BEST for your child’s skin.
