The Probiotic Baby Sensitive Body Cream is suitable for use following baby’s very first bath. It is formulated to protect the skin’s microbiome with the inclusion of prebiotic and probiotic ingredients. The formulation, ingredients, and product pH have all been considered in order to help the skin’s microbiome to flourish.
- Lactobacillus ferment – a probiotic extract that will help protect the skin from pathogenic microbes and assist in the production of good microbes
- Inulin – prebiotic food source to the good microbes, helping them to colonise over the pathogenic ones
- Shea butter – naturally moisturising and rich in vitamins A & E and essential fatty acids
- Almond oil – softening and soothing to the skin
- Fragrance free – no fragrances or essential oils for the most sensitive of skins
- Petroleum free – will not clog pores and allows skin to breathe
- pH balanced to that of the skin to provide an optimal environment for the skin microbiome
- Nourishes the skin microbiome after bathing
- Highly recommended for use from birth

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Gently apply and massage all over skin after bath or when required. For additional glide when massaging baby or for very dry skin, add a few pumps of the Baby Massage & Bath Oil to the cream and use in combination.

WHAT IS YOUR SKIN MICROBIOME?
The skin microbiome is the complex ecosystem of microbes which live on the skin. Advances in technology reveal that there are over a trillion bacteria living on your skin, most of which are in fact beneficial. These beneficial microbes play a critical role in healthy skin by:
- Improving skin barrier
- Reducing trans-epidermal water loss
- Promoting immunity against infection
It therefore comes as no surprise that current studies show a connection between skin microbial imbalances and several different skin conditions, including eczema. To help prevent such skin conditions from developing, it is advisable to use products that minimise disruption of the skin microbiome – such as the Probiotic Baby Sensitive Cream Wash followed by the Probiotic Baby Body Cream.
WHAT’S IN MY AQUEOUS CREAM?
Typically, the ingredients in a conventional aqueous cream will contain a few (if not all) of the following:
Petrolatum, Mineral oil or Paraffinum Liquidum – These have no nutritive benefit to the skin or the microbiome
Paraben based preservatives – controversial preservatives shown to mimic oestrogen
Parfum (containing synthetic fragrances & phthalates) – may aggravate sensitive skin
The Pure Beginnings Probiotic Baby Body Cream does not contain any of these ingredients – only vegetable-based oils that nourish the skin, certified organic approved preservatives and no synthetic fragrances that could irritate the skin.
